March in Minneapolis
January 23, 2026
Earlier today, we marched in Minneapolis, chanting things like Immigrants are Welcome Here, and ICE OUT of Minnesota. It was inspirational, electric, and emotional. We walked for an hour in sub-zero temps, and it was freezing, but we were glad to march collectively.
Fear and trauma continue to grip our cities and state. Families are ripped apart, and now children as young as two years old are being taken. How is this legal?
We pray for those impacted, and we look for ways to help those in need. Kindness is so powerful in this moment.
For the past year, I’ve participated in over 200 actions to speak out for what I believe in. I’ve written letters, made calls, and attended meetings, rallies, and marches, but I’ve wondered whether any of it has made a difference. Nothing seems to change, and everything seems to get worse.
Then sparks of hope come, like today, when I received an email that said all of our efforts matter because the world is watching. They see our dedication, our courage and resistance, and our love for our neighbors and each other. The world is our witness.
This evening, I posted a comment about the march under a wonderful journalist we follow (Aaron Parnas), and a short while later, I had over 100 likes with comments to uplift. We feel seen and supported on Substack, and we love this platform.
When we stand together, near and far, we can restore safety, inclusivity, and love. Thank you for standing with us.
In solidarity,
Michelle
